One year when we were in Dewey, we had roommates who had a dog who seemed to be a magnet for skunks. He got skunked while we were there. She had a mixture that you could use that had Tide or Dawn, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda in it, which sounds like what you made. There's also a Nature's Miracle shampoo made for it. One thing about it is that it will turn black dogs brown until their fur sheds out.
